Jr. Luat is a creative freelance graphic illustrator that was born in Japan and raised in San Diego. BakitWhy.com  had the pleasure to meet and talk with him not only about his name and company, but also about the different experiences and lessons he has learned over the years, along the way to becoming an independent adult.

For most of us, searching for the right livelihood and career is often difficult, but finding a genuine passion is even more challenging. Jr went to college in San Diego State University and graduated with a degree in Political Science. However, being an artist at heart, graduating with this degree did not completely satisfy him.

After graduating he worked in freelancing and created illustrations for various clothing lines and companies such as Urban Basix and Juice Box Integrated Media. Much of his personal work also revolves around a ‘fine art’ concept. During his spare time, Jr often illustrates freely as a way of building new inspirations.

In addition to his unique illustrations, Jr is also the CEO and founder of Hearts & Things , a clothing and accessories company which had started from handmade heart pins. Hearts & Things was officially established in March of this year and has come a long way since its launch with the help of his associates Christopher VillanuevaPatrick Santa AnaPhilip LuuPhilip Cariaso Jr.Jerome de Joya, and Jonathan Topacio. Hearts & Things has many plans for the near future, with the hopes of also expanding his business to states outside of California.

Among Jr’s main goals is to motivate and inspire those who believe in pursuing their dreams, and then taking a chance to make it a reality. It’s a little difficult at first, but once you take that big leap and stick to it, it’ll all be worth it in the end.
